Belorusneft to open more vehicle charging stations

The Belarusian filling station chain Belorusneft will increase the number of car charging stations Malanka to over 400 by the end of the year, BelTA has learned.

More than 150 car charging stations will be added to the 270 stations already in use. According to Belorusneft Deputy Director General Andrei Kotik, the company sets up vehicle charging outlets at convenient locations such as outside shopping and entertainment centers so that the drivers could plug in their cars, go and take care of their business, and come back to a fully charged car.

Most of the charging stations are concentrated in Minsk – 171. There are plans to set up 110 more charging stations in Minsk in 2020. Most of them will be located in the center of the city, near retail outlets, entertainment structures, cultural and sport places. However, car charging stations are also available in bedroom communities across the city.

As for other parts of the country, Brest and the oblast are in the lead. There are plans to set up 15 charging stations in that area by the end of the year. Their number will reach 34 in Brest Oblast. Grodno Oblast is supposed to get 11 new charging stations in 2020 to have a total of 27. Plans have been made to install rapid charging stations in other parts of the country as well: 2 Malanka stations in Vitebsk Oblast, 10 in Gomel Oblast, 1 in Mogilev Oblast, and 7 in Minsk Oblast. The company focuses in installing fast charging stations on major motorways in order to save their drivers’ time.
